A.
If ROSC is achieved and the patient is stabilized, implement a strict monitoring protocol adapted to the cause of the cardiac arrest.
B.
Adapt ECMO settings as required.
C.
Consider chest and/or abdomen contrast enhancement computed tomography (CE-CT) scan to assess potential injuries related with chest compressions, particularly if mechanical chest compression was used. Consider withholding anticoagulation medication until the results are achieved.
D.
If the patient was on deep sedation before cardiac arrest and vacation is not feasible OR if the patient is comatose after ROSC, consider implementing targeted temperature management (TTM) and neuromonitoring/neuroprognostication protocol according to most recent guidelines.
E.
Inform the patient if they are awake.
F.
Inform the family or surrogates about the patient status.
G.
Report the event in detail.
H.
Report the ECMO complication on the ELSO Registry.
This concludes Cardiac Arrest.
