Monitor the return tubing. Do NOT interrupt EBF if bubbles do not appear after the ML.

Servoregulate to stop EBF if the bubble sensor is located after the ML and a bubble is detected.
C.
If the bubble sensor is located before the ML, consider temporarily placing it after the ML. Servoregulate to stop EBF if bubbles are detected.
D.
If no bubble sensor is available, consider having someone monitor the return line and clamp the return line if air is present.
E.
To de-air, connect a large luer-lock syringe to the closest port and try to aspirate the air bubbles until no more air is visible and/or no more noise is audible.
F.
Continue to monitor the patient closely.

Document the event and related procedures in the patient's chart
H.
If applicable, report the instance in the ELSO registry.
